Beth Sholom Sisterhood

Beth Sholom Sisterhood is an integral part of life at Beth Sholom. With approximately 200 members, our active ranks support synagogue activities and plan special events for our own membership.   You can find Sisterhood women in the Beth Sholom building at all times of the day contributing their time and energy for the benefit of Beth Sholom.   Our organization is a participating member of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and in addition to supporting our home synagogue, Beth Sholom, we also support Conservative Judaism with our participation in the annual Torah Fund.

Beth Sholom Sisterhood supports the following Beth Sholom programs:

  • We help fund Beth Sholom’s weekly Kiddush luncheon following Shabbat services
  • We regularly provide volunteers to shop for Beth Sholom programming needs
  • We cook Latkes for Hannukah, bake Hamantaschen for Purim, and are available to help manage and keep our Kosher Kitchen
  • We volunteer in the Beth Sholom office, answering telephones, preparing mailings, and greeting members and guests

In addition, we plan our own special programs for Sisterhood members:

  • New Member Luncheon
  • Sisterhood Shabbat
  • Lox Box Annual Fundraiser
  • Women’s Seder
  • Annual Torah Fund Brunch for Donors, Benefactors and Guardians

We are always looking for enthusiastic and creative women to help us build our program and support our synagogue.    The Sisterhood of Beth Sholom is very fortunate to have women with the vision and knowledge to lead and sustain our institution.  We are very proud of the vital role we play in the everyday life Beth Sholom Synagogue.  Membership dues are $36.00 per year and are used to support all of the work that we do throughout the year.  Please join us – we welcome you!
